Amp losing power

I used a 4 gauge ground. Not much difference. Should I get some 4 gauge for the woofer to the amp? Or 0 gauge? Next check I am going to buy a 160 amp alternator, run 0 gauge, big three, and run bigger wiring to the woofer, if that doesnt solve it, I will see if the amp is fucked up, if so ill buy a new amp.
have you tried swapping RCA's?..you said you didn't think it was in protect, sot it sounds like maybe a bad rca connection. Also check your battery out and see what the resting voltage is. if it is an older starting battery, it may have a bad plate and about to bite the dust. you need a good AGM deep cycle battery up front and upgrade the wires on the charging system (big 3). I would do that before buying a new alt, since the system will need it anyways, no matter what alt you buy.
