I have an alpine mrp f300 and those should run to hot. I have a pair of rf t165 s and kicker tc104 hooked up and I set the gains properly with a multimeter to set the correct voltage for the amp. Now the amp is 50 RMS and the speakers are 80 RMS. I didn't think it would be that much of a difference.

It was hot to the touch but not burning hot. Just felt hotter than usual. I think it just started happening. It never got that hot before. Idk it its BC its getting warmer outside. I have not had this during the summertime it was installed a few months ago. I don't have it indirect sunlight. Its on the back of my rear car seats in the trunk.

Go 150 Watts speakers or equal to your amps. 150 watts and up is your amps. That's the good rule of thumb.
