eh here is my problem . i have a mtx te1501d . it has 4 35 amp fuses on the outside of the case. they all blew on me i checked the wiring and under the hood i had a loose neg cable so i tightened that down. replaced the fuses and fired the amp back up. when i turned the radio on 1 of my subs made a loud boom, then all the fuse appeared to have caught on fire. is there a short in my amp or could 1 of the sub need recoiled ?? i checked the ohm load and it reads a solid 1ohm . with 2 dual 4 speakers which is what i had it wired down to . Anyone know anything about this type of problem ??

i think you answered your own question on this one guy...

IDK much about the sub coil... but i have a memphis 500w 4ch that had a similar problem. It bumped but 1 day just crapped out. I would replace the three internal fuses but as soon as i turned the stereo on i could hear them sizzle. Luckily it's fixed now... i'm still using the same amp and it never blew the big 200 fuse at the battery. If you are under warranty send it back, otherwise open your phone book and find a local guy that will take a look and you might even get a good repair deal. I don't know where your amp is but i always black tape over everything thats anywhere near the metal/copper, after its hooked up. Not a problem with my amp since.
