issue with install of sundown saz-100.4

Im trying to locate a noise in my install i did this weekend and need some more ideas on were to look. Im getting what sounds like a bad radio station/static basically, at low to mid volumes, when the truck is on. At higher volumes it goes away, and sometimes i goes away randomly.

amp is a sundown saz-100.4

headunit is a alpine iva-d900

So far ive-

-re-check my ground and power, yes the gound is on bare metal.

-I plugged an ipod into the rca side of the amp to determine it wasnt the rcas or speaker wire.

-I did take apart the fuse holder and the fuse and fuse holder seem a-bit funky fitting.

Im thinking maybe the wiring kit i bought was crap. I bought a cheap streetwires 4-guage kit off onlinecarstearo.com. I just ordered Kunkonceptz wire and am going to rip this crap street wire out as soon as it arrives. I used there wire on my last install and it was great. But anyway any ideas on what else to check? or if anyone has done an install on one of these trucks some input would be great.

I know you said the rca's isnt the problem, but do you have them running next to your power wire?

My uncles did this ,found out it was a bad ground on the HU , the ground wire had fallen off and the only ground the HU was getting was from the antenna plug.

i bought it last january. How do I got about fixing that diaode? I have a spare infinity 4-channel amp that I hooked up and that worked fine. So i have determined it is an amp issue with the sundown. great amp at high volume, but at low/mid volume the static is there like a bad radio station

Not all of them have this problem -- one run of 100.4s had some units with this issue. The issue is some resistors in the circuit controlling the +/- 15v to the input card.

OP - if you amp is under warranty and has the incorrect resistors it can be fixed by dB-R under warranty.
