i agree. that said, a dmm will also allow you to set gains properly.. so id spend the extra few bucks on the dmm

Okay got the dmm. What setting do I put it on?

VDC using the setting 15 or higher (mine says 20)

Okay I take the dmm and put the red on the power wire where it hooks up to the amp and put the black where I have my ground mounted. Dmm reads 1.6 for a second then drops down slowly to 0.2. Wtf am

i should of been more clear, the DMM reads up to the voltage on that adjustable knob on the front. you want to use the lowest one that's higher than 15 (your battery is usually at 12v).. so if you set it on a higher number you will get a small number like you see because its at the hundreds or thousandths. set your DMM to the lowest setting it has that's higher than 15 and it should give you a proper reading..

you need to measure the remote wire and make sure it is reading at least 12 volts when your headunit is on

make sure you're also putting the negative probe to your negative on your amplifier when you check the remote wire. if theres no signal then you need to pull out the headunit and see what the problem is with the remote turn on wiring.

Nope no signal there. I went to the switch and there is 11.1 volts going into the switch, but 0 volts coming out of the switch. Does this mean the switch is bad?

Got it to work by bypassing the switch. Can't get sub to play though...ugh this is so aggravating
