Amp and Subwoofer Setup

I was given some equipment by a friend of mine and am totally confused. He gave me two amps, both Sony Xplods and I am unsure of which to use. One is a XM-4060GTX and the other is a XM-502Z. The sub is a Audiobahn AW831T.

Which amp would be a better match for this sub?

I'm also confused about how to wire the sub. It came in an enclosure with the positive and negative cables split with the two positive leads going to the two positive speaker terminals and the two negative wires to the negative terminals. Is this correct?

what impedance is the sub? single 2 ohm or 8 ohm?

you can't drive a mono 2 ohm load and you don't want to drive a mono 8 ohm load. in order to use those amps, you want a mono 4 ohm load.

refer to the manuals for wiring instructions when using a sub.

It turned out that the amp was bad. I replaced it with a 12" inch Kicker using the XM-4060GTX and my 16 year old son is happy as a can be.
