Running speaker wire into doors

I ordered a new 4 channel amp for all 4 of my door speakers but im running into a problem as to where i should run the new speaker wire. I drive a 2003 saturn vue. I bought 250 ft of 14 gauge wire and i was told by a guy that theres no possible way you can fit 14 gauge wire through the rubber boot that goes from the door to the cabin but theres gotta be a way. I don't wanna chop up all the wires at the deck just to reuse them. Does anybody have any tips or tricks on how to get the new speaker wire from the door to the cabin?

Stuff that ish brother! i cant vouch for the car I drive an 03 ion actually but i managed to fit two twisted pairs of 14 in each boot in my car it just took some patience. try running it through with a coat hanger or the like

There should be enough room to squeeze them in. If all else fails drill a small hole and use a grommet or tuck in neatly and feed it behind the panel. Zip tie it to the existing wire between the door and body. Wrap it in black electrical tape for aesthetics.

as for pulling new wire through the door of a 1998-2002 Accord - see below

locate the single wire harness that feeds the passenger door

remove the harness. at this point you can pull it all the way out the factory opening, or just far enough to gain access for wire routing

keep track of it's location and orientation

pry the rubber boot from both bottom and top - pull the wire from the top enough to gain access to the cabin side of the rubber boot

route a metal rod through the wire bundle - make sure it is not sharp or it could compromise the wiring. you may need to make a slit in the rubber boot - the part that is inside the cabin

tape speaker wire to one side and pull it through - this is CL2 rated 12/2 wire

now you can feed the wire through the openings into the door and cabin. inside the door - use zip ties to secure the speaker wire to factory wire loom so it doesn't interfere with the window track. inside the cabin, route the wire so it is hidden in the dash - securing it to factory split loom every 12" or so.

make sure the rubber boots are fully seated - start on the back side and use a flat screwdriver to push in the rest. plug in the wire harness.

wont the sharp edge on the frame cut through the speaker wire and cause alot more problems though

that is why he said to use a grommet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you can always add wire to teh factory grommet - it's just easier when the rubber boots are loose. you can always loosen the boots/wires, just just a matter of finding the connectors.

i was just told that its almost impossible to fit anymore wires the grommet/boots becuase they are soo small
what they may be referring to is the normal entry to the boot is very tight around the wires. but the rubber pathway is larger than the wire - so you enter the pathway after the boot but still inside the vehicle - like in the pics above.

take pics of your door boots and we'll see what you have.

203 saturn ion and I have 12awg running inside my doors. Like hope said twist boots and they will come loose from the door. Then I used a coat hanger looped one end and tied wire to it and pushed threw the boot "make sure the coat hanger has a loop on the end u are pushing the wire threw with or u will puch a hole in the rubber" once u get it threw pull some excess wire into the door squezze boot to get to fit back into factory holes and twist them into the lock position. Boom now you can go back to that guy that said it cant be done and punch him in the chin.
