amp and sub question.....

I have a RF P5002 pushing an L7 12" at this time. It hits pretty hard, but at 500RMS and the sub being 750RMS, I thought I can do better. I am looking at the Kicker ZX750, but it hits 750RMS at 2 ohms. Can I hook my L7 at 2 ohms for 750RMS?

Also, can a 1 ohm stable amp push my L7 without any problems? I have a pioneer 580mp, does this make a difference?

It depends......if the L7 has dual 4ohm voice coils, yes you can run the zx750 at 2ohms.

You could wire it to present either a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load to your amplifier.

I know it's a ould thread but is the RF P5002 a good amp?

Its not the top of the line, but I never had any problems with it overheating or shutting off. I can play all day with no issues. It hits my L7 pretty hard, probably not as hard as a higher wattage/rms amp, but it gets pretty loud. I know some car audio enthusiast don't like the Kicker solo baric series either, but its a good bang for the price. I give it an A....Some might not because they feel that other higher end amps like a Zapco or Xtant are the only amps worth buying. I know that RF use to have a good name in car audio back in the day....but I still like them because I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a car system....If you do, than maybe someone else can give you advise on a higher end amp....
