F350 is the 1-ton model. Dana 60's are 1-ton axles. Chevy and Dodge have traditionally used Dana 60's in their 1-ton trucks as well.
TTB is, like IFS, better suited to high speed odd roading (basically pre-runner).

Im not sure what you mean by pulling them front to front. If you mean you pulling someone while in reverse, that's hard on your ring and pinion gear(s). I never recommend pulling someone out in reverse if at all possible.
I meant the old stupid red neck tradition of chaining 2 trucks together to see who is stronger.

F350 2x4's only had a Dana 50. Such as the duallys. I love TTB but i love a Dana 60 even more.

idk why everyone is so fascinated over the Dodge Cummins Diesel, the engine might be a little better than the Duramax, but that's about it. The transmission in the Duramax is light years ahead of the Cummins. imo both engines are great & will last longer than anyone would need. but aren't diesels made for towing heavy equipment? transmissions take as much, if not more, of a beating from towing than the engine. & for that reason I prefer the Duramax.

the new Ford powerstroke is supposed to be well improved, but the previous models are so horrific that I eouldn't even touch them.

The New Ford is not a powerstroke. Powerstroke is an IH/Navistar product. And the 7.3 Powerstroke is the most proven diesel in the business. Everyone loves the Cummins because even though they are always the weakest from the factory being an inline 6 instead of a V8, they are the cheapest and easiest to make power with. They always have been and always will be. The 6.0 powerstroke is a solid engine with a few issues. Mostly the EGR Cooler. And then most problems came from running them hard, bad maitnence or adding tuners and stuff. The 6.4 TT was a disaster and i will admit it.

& from what I've seen the most unreliable. my friends who own them are always dumping money to fix them.

from what I can gather;

people who drive Cummins are much younger, rarely ever haul anything, & have them lifted & dog the piss out of them.

guys who drive the powerstroke & duramax tend to be older & actually use them for what they were intended to do.....pull shit.

Why dont you just say it like it is.

Most people who drive Cummins powered trucks are young assholes.

Im getting ready to get a 96-early 2000 7.3 power stroke. I usually pull between 7 and 15 thousand and my F150 got tired of it and i dont want to put the 86 through all that with no trubo.

My Grand Cherokee struggles pulling my hauler & Z28 around (5-6k lb) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Well the old F150 dropped 3 cylinders with the equipment trailer weighing 3K and the chevy for the scrapyard at about 10K. People look at me funny when i have that load on an F150 and the rear only drops like 2"

I don't believe the WJ was designed for towing. I wouldn't try it with my ZJ either, although it has a towing package. I think that was more of a "I can do it if I really need to, but it's not recommended" kinda package. I've thought about getting a trailer for the Caprice, but shit, first of all, who tows a Caprice, and secondly, the ZJ wouldn't handle it at all.

As far as lifts go, it is definitely cheaper and easier to do when the vehicle has axles front and rear. I just lifted my Jeep 2" for about $160 total (coil spacers, shocks, shock boots, rear coil retainer extensions, and shipping). I know coil spacers probably are looked down upon like a body lift, but hey, at least my lift is a suspension lift. You can't do a body lift on a unibody //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. My rear articulation is pretty decent as well. I need to get some swaybar disconnects for the front then I should actually have pretty decent off road capabilities. Solid axles FTW.
