American Bass XFL or HD 12? - Daily - Or something else?

I heard the HD's like to be tuned high? Looking for a daily sub. Something to put in a box @ 32-34 hz. Thoughts?

Well a aq 2200 isnt enough amp for a hd ..so just go with the xfl and tune around 32-34

It will take 2k daily. Tune @33 in 2.45 cubes.

If you are curious that price is almost cost on that sub.

As for what sub to get, to say that XXXX power is not enough for a sub is not exactly true. You just need to build around what you have and everything else will work just fine. Personally I would do an HD in 2-2.25ft3 net enclosure with a very generous amount of port area and tune it to work best for your goals and the application. That sub will play low just fine.

It seems at that power level the HD would be louder. XFL would probably start running to thermal compression issues. I think they both like similar sized and tuned boxes though. I don't have direct experience; just guessing from what I've read around these parts. I do know one thing for sure: pro-rabbit knows what he's talking about when it comes to these subs.

i would get the hd is you are running a single one

but yes the aq right now is a better buy

No doubt. You clip that amp into the HD and it will blow eventually.

not even clipping it you can blow it. play alot of lower freqs alot see what happens to the spiders/triple joint. its a decent woofer and with a 1200aq you wont have a issue with it...
