In what way does Sundown have to catch up to AB? If its in size of amps, then I don't see it happening. The larger (5kw+ ) Zenon based amps that Bob has are nowhere near stable enough for Jacob to sell under his name.
ask jacob where he gets his amps. same place different case.

i guees its opinion. I have a teammate who was running 4 1500.1 @ 1.4 ohms and two of them blew.
Well you guys must **** huh? I ran 4 of them strapped at .5 and got 10kw out of them... but what would I know huh

Ok? how about you crack open the case and look at the components, if your intelligent enough to look at the values on the components you probably would change your tune.

Sometimes products break - that is what warranty is for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm sure you teammate was taken care of promptly, although I'm not sure who you are referring to off hand. Most amps I get back ran within rated impedance were destroyed by excessive vibration breaking transistor legs off, that was probably the case as I have gotten a few back from TN with this. Newer 1500s and 300s have extra screws to make it even more difficult to break them by vibration.

ive ran a sundown over 200degrees(don't ask how)...still kept goin...protected at around 225 or so...but waited overnight...cooled them down. turned it on...kept going strong.
That's not the best. That means the amp will probably fail before the thermal protect will kick in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I will have to admit, I like the VFLs, though the Sundowns are easier to repair.

amp did go into thermal protect...well one of them did...freaked me out for a good hour, then turned on again after waiting...it started then i turned car off...then went to bed

Well, in cases of thermal runaway where conditions do not allow for the heatsink to be heated fast enough, the fet will die from thermal failure. Though, I have yet to see ANY company interpret a proper thermal shutdown system.

well u lost me there buddy lol...it got hot cuz i put a heavy blanket on top of it and drove over 6 hours playing music...so its user error on my part but the amp is still goin on strong today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
