It will make bass but will it sound good or get loud? No.

What kind of car do you have, what kind of amp are you using? What is your budget for a sub? What are you looking to get out of it (loud or sq)?

The box is the most important item when it comes to adding a subwoofer.

hyundai elantra, i'm lookin towards buyin a American Bass PH1600MD that does 800w at 1 ohm, i'm trying to keep my budget around $100 for a sub cause my budget is super tight atm, and i want more sq rather than just being loud. my second choice would be the dcon. i don't know how loud they get but i've heard good things about them and the sq is pretty neat

the dcon would be an excellent choice. They will get pretty decently loud with very good sq, all ssa products are designed to perform like this. The Infinity Ref 1262w is another very good choice and comes in right around $75. I have also had very good experiences with Boston Acoustics G1 series, those sell for about $75 as well but they don't get very loud if you run them sealed, the really like ported boxes. I'm on my phone so I can't look at the amp you posted, I'll check when I get off work but if it's 800rms, it will blow the **** outta that ab dx sub.

very true but if i run a pair in the future or get 3 of em it would be perfect. i'm still debating wither i should get 1 nice sub for about $200 or a pair of ok subs that add up to $200. just tryin to get the right product from the start

If you want something that sounds good and will last, go with quality over quantity.

i had 3 dx15s on a power acoustik A3000DB and did a 147.6 on the TL box was 9.75^3 tuned to 32hz...people underestimate the DX line...true its no IA SD or DC but they do handle their own and they do get loud...i really didnt have a good amp on mine so i can just imagine if i did. The 10s will do you just fine if your looking for some bass in the car.

Proof? What kind of car? Where was the meter placed? Music or tone? Arent there 2 lines of AB, one is sold by online retailers and the other is only through dealerships?

they only have 1 line. They do not permit internet sales. anything you buy from a online vendor they will not warranty. the dx line sounds great if you dont want a **** ton of bass. its a single 4 ohm woofer so that ph 1600 should be fine on that woofer

I have heard AB low end stuff, DX, XO, XD and was not very impressed. They made bass, but it was quite undesireable.
