Alternator whine frustration.

Did the big 3 in 4ga. Battery ground to chassis, Block ground to chassis, Power from alt to battery. Ground all chassis points to metal.

My amps and 3sixty.2 share a common ground and constant power via distribution block. I temporarily ran power and ground wires from the distros in the trunk to my head unit to give a singular ground point to all components. Still get headache inducing whine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

ground ur rca's.allso make sure the chassis of the deck is grounded well.

speedbump3.. allways trying to get everything for nothing...
I grounded the deck chassis to the distros in the trunk when I did all that. Didn't ground RCAs though. Never had to ground RCAs before.
BTW, this isn't the lounge, so don't go shitting in here. That shit stays in the lounge. I even have that much respect.

I have also went through this with you before and you still don't understand. I have no problems with asking for advice *******. It's when freeloaders are asking for a service someone has paid for. Or want good places to download free music that someone should get paid for.

Now keeps this discussion in the lounge since I don't go trashing your threads outside of the lounge.

Well dammit. Thay didn't work either. I wrapped the ends of the rcas with wire then grounded it. Still a horrid whine. Might just need a different deck. Pretty sure the deck is the source of the noise. I took the 3sixty out of the equation by running the rcas from the deck to the amps and got the whine. Next is to just confirm it isn't the amps by hooking an ipod directly to them. Need to run and get a cable for it though.

sometimes bad decks will be the cause for noise..

i have even swapped amps and had noise go away..

usually if wrapping the outter part of the rca's and grounding this to the chassis of the deck, off to a good chassis ground fixes 85% of noise porblems..

free loader.

free loader.
Don't bother answering in here anymore. You can't seem to keep BS in the lounge. I am not freeloading. You didn't pay for the advice I am asking for unlike asking for a free carfax report or downloading music. These on topic esction aren't for pissing matches. You are more than welcome to make a thread in the lounge if you wish to have a pissing match.

Nailed it. Finally. I should have just calmed down from the beginning and really listened to the noise. I was just so bothered and pissed that I had alt whine that I never realized it was only one channel. It was so loud and high pitched that I didn't realize it was only one tweeter.

Did some troubleshooting and found the culprit to be a bad RCA cable. I know it is obviously possible, but that's the first time noise was the result of a bad RCA for me. Usually I find the source of noise to be one of the grounds in the system.

I fixed the bad cable and all is well. Took apart the end and found a shitty connection to the connector. It's good to rid yourself of a highly annoying troll.

Sorry to highjack your thread but since you solved your problem I figured it would be appropriate. Im having this same problem, but it is coming from all of my amped speakers ( my sub and front component speakers) i have grounded both amps and head unit to the same place in the back of the car and this has not helped. Also I have tryed grounding the RCA's, this gets rid of about 80% of the noise. When you switch CD's there is a "popping" noise that comes from the subs and when you turn the electricle on/off it makes the same noise. My deck is a Kenwood KDC-X991 and my amps are a Sundown SAE-1000D and a Sundown SAX-100.2.

Thanks in advance.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Have you tried narrowing it down to which components is the source of the noise? This will help.
Here is a nice page.

It will be a tedious and time consuming process.

I've given it a shot, I actully disconneced the alternator. This got rid of the terrible screeching noise but there was still a 'ticking noise' that was just as loud as the screeching but was being masked by the screeching noise. The ticking noise almost sounded like a spark. This is what makes me think that it is a ground issue or a faulty wire. The noise started when i unhooked my amps and sub to sound deaden the rear of my car. I drive a '94 Eagle Talon so I did the rear hatch and trunk area. Before I put the car together I brought it into a car audio shop to have them install an alarm and some automatic door actuators. Once I got home I put both amps in again and hooked up the sub. This is when the noise started.
