the alt wont 'put out' amps, but componets will draw from it. I also would advise against getting one rewound. You may have a higher amperage at say 2200 rpm but at idle its gonna **** and you will have major voltage problems which is where most people run inot problems anyways, not cruising down the highway. Mechman gurantees 150amps at IDLE on most if not all of his alternators.
