Thanks everyone. Didn't even cross my mind to cross reference any alts. I'm waiting on payday so I can upgrade alt an big 3
oh ok so listings on ebay prove that the parts make it a 250a alternator? do you have any idea of the cost necessary to make a 250a alternator? you're being hypocritical by stating that im not backing up what im saying, yet you're not backing up what you're saying either.Instead of just dismissing and arbitrarily classifying the alternator ... you might want to READ the listing... LOL!.. This alt brings out more haters... LOL!.. it is capable of keeping up with this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VQA8MKFTxY ... who knows what 2 CAB's do at 1 ohm strapped... BTW... I don't want to hear any "WARNINGS" about 1 ohm strapped... I'm just gonna meter it this way... then back to 4 ohm strapped until next year... Whatever this alternator claims... IDK how close to 250 it is , but you can call them...they say they are individually tested and I had a nice conversation before I purchased... it's FAR above any stock alternator the local parts store is LIKELY to have...
I DO respect your viewpoint... the fact that certain vendors do give lifetime warranties is AWESOME... those same vendors do charge for the unit plus a premium and deservedly I think... all I stated was that it did seem to me that you arbitrarily dismissed it because it did not say Singer,Mechman... etc... this manufacturer may be hit or miss... but until they produce birthsheets ... at a slightly higher price I'm sure... hopefully it will include a video of the process along with a paper trail... I will digress... an Alternator at a much lower price along with a 1 year warranty will allow this company to fill a niche that is currently open... Also... I am a satisfied customer who feels that the ACTUAL item I purchased does deliver... I spent a couple of hours reading the true hate on SMD from anyone who has a "Superior" brand... if you want the link I will supply it!... You are not alone... I'm used to it... this a Alternator does truly bring out the haters... Then I silenced them at the bassmeet last week... I PM'd links to several interested parties... LOL!.. I'm currently trying to get them to provide the birthsheet and video because that niche needs to be filled for anyone on a budget... we'll see... If things were different, I'd probably be the skeptical one... LOL!oh ok so listings on ebay prove that the parts make it a 250a alternator? do you have any idea of the cost necessary to make a 250a alternator? you're being a hypocritical by stating that im not backing up what im saying, yet you're not backing up what you're saying either.
You're correct of course... I let myself get derailed into a big VS.thread...LOL!.. the alt probably is weak...anyone else thing it weird his volts drop that bad with those small amps? u don't have gains set crazy high do u? but yeah big 3 and maybe just try agm start battery see if that helps.. bigger alt will help if it works keep in mind they all rebuilt so i'd get 1 i could return easy..
on another subject u should try a pioneer 3003 like mine., it's lots better than 1 u have and on like $70 ebay, they only d4 so may have to get a mono amp but worth it., all it's needs is 500rms (would be fine on 300 96db) read my sig..Thanks everyone. they should be sending you a birthsheet even without purchasing it, i think thats a bit absurd. like i said before the components alone for a 250a alternator will cost more than what they're selling it for. This Ebay alt that I purchased was $135 shipped and it seems to deliver... maybe now any questions as to the purchased units ACTUAL output will be available to the purchaser... I hope this lays to rest some misgivings... Heck, a 250A alt with a 1 year warranty may be the answer for some people...
You might be right... seems they're willing to show testing and unit being dropped directly into addressed box then sealed if requested... all anyone has to do is ask...they should be sending you a birthsheet even without purchasing it, i think thats a bit absurd. like i said before the components alone for a 250a alternator will cost more than what they're selling it for.
the response is awfully short, im sure they're aware that they're just selling either a re-manufactured, or new ad244 otherwise theyd be making no profit. ebay and amazon are riddled with companies selling these to consumers who think they're getting 250a of output.
thanks hopefully what im saying makes sense, i only want to avoid people buying the shady marketing strategies they used. not here to be right or prove anyone wrong, just to get the truth out. its not a bad price for a new ad244 so its not that you got screwed, just that they're deceiving people to sell their alternator over the realistically rated competitorYou might be right... seems they're willing to show testing and unit being dropped directly into addressed box then sealed if requested... all anyone has to do is ask...
you can try to find someone local to you with a dc clamp meter, theyre about $100 on amazon and id get a fluke, i dont really trust the other brandsI hope that the unit I received is supplying a little more than a stock AD244... I have no way to test it truthfully... it easily keeps up with my inexpensive power hungry CAB's... so I believed that it is supplying at least close to rated amperage... I will inquire exactly what parts are used to build it up... if any... LOL!.. I'ts cool man... I'll ask and maybe they'll "claim"... certain parts... but if they put out the amperage claimed, video it, package it and have a one year warranty... then maybe it'll be a good budget option for some... years ago "1997" I paid $660 COD for a Mechman 175A for my Mazda 626... They were a really obscure company then... it came with a modified bracket for mounting and was a HUGE addition to a 250 watt UHC system I had... Don't get me wrong, I agree that some manufacturers really put out excellent product... but if this manufacturer can be proven to deliver with a limited warranty on a smaller budget... I'm all for it!
id send you my dc clamp but i really dont know you so im sure you can understand my hesitation. just ask around on facebook groups and whatnot as annoying as they are. maybe go to a car audio meet and someone will have oneYeah... I tried... those guys/shops who have one all want to be paid!.. hey, they paid for their tools... LOL!... I've been out of the game for 15 years and am networking again locally... maybe I'll find one
