alternator charge cable

i just installed a new alternator..but not sure how to go about installing the charge cable.. is that the one that runs from your alternators connection to ground..? connecting that output to the positive end of your battery??

right now, on my alternator that runs from the alt to ground (metal on my car), and another one thats a big cap like thing with buncha fuse like outputs under that runs to.. maybe the starter? which one should i be running to the pos. of the battery?

You should have a wire running either from the + on tha bat. to the alt. or from the + on tha bat. to the started and then to the alt. (depending on the type of car and it's set-up) This is the one that needs to be uprgaded. Mine runs through the starter, it kinda sounds like yours does too since you mentioned the starter. It would hurt to upgrade the ground either though.
