Alt Power Needed

I am confused & concerned on what power output alternator I will need formy car. I have talked to mechanics, people on Subaru Forums and car stereo installers and have been given different answers by all.

Car: 01 Subaru Forester S Model(non Turbo)

Current Alt (90 Amp) with Big 3 Upgrade(1/0 Awg wire)

KNU Kol 1/0 Wire(also have a 6.0 Farad Cap to install in needed)

System Setup:

Double Din Pioneer Radio

(4) Alpine Type R 10's in Custom Ported Enclosure

Power Acoustic 6000.1 Gothic Series Amp

largest Deep Cycle Battery that Fits in my car. No extra batteries for system

* Subs wired to mono channel at 2ohm. The RMS output of the amp will not exceed 4000 watts.

The car is a daily driver, but might go to amateur SPL Comps to see what it can push.

I have been told I need a 350amp ALT is needed, Then told by another my 90amp alt would work with a 6.0 farad cap & all the other upgrades I did would work. What size alt do I need. I am trying to keep my electrical system being strained and having the needed power for the amp.

First off the amp will do like 1200watts if your lucky! Ditch the 6.0 fraud cap. Just with stock alt and doing the big three with a good agm batt under the hood you should be fine..... But if you want an HO alternator contact excessive amperage

ok ty..

last question.

The subs I have are swr-10d2. What amp setup should I go with in your guys expert advice to get max SPL out of them

Well since u have dual 2ohm woofers you need to find an amp that's 2ohm stable or .5ohm stable because you will wire to either 2ohms or .5ohm... Seeing you prly don't have the electrical to back up an amp at .5ohm you should look at amps that make power at 2ohm like alpine, kicker,Rockford or jl.. But if you buy those amps your paying for the name brand. You should have got d4 ohm woofers so you could wire to 1ohm and lots more amps to choose from to get the power you need

I have some wanting to trade a kicker dx700.1 and a Rockford fosgate 650.1 for my power acoustic. Should I do that and strapped them together. Would that hit harder than that power acoustic?
