Alt for 13,000 watts

How did you land on 13k as your goal? That's more power than 99.9% of aftermarket car audio setups.

Do you like your cars fast or do you like your cars able to go fast? Do you like your music loud or able to get loud?

If you want to spend money for potential, I can relate, but say so. I'm only trying to understand your intended use.

As far as required electrical, listen to @Popwarhomie and @hispls because those guys are among the few on this site who have actually done it.

I'm not trying to be a prick; it comes naturally.

I figured 13k sounded like a good number and should be more power than I could possibly ever need. After the comment by pop about breaking ****, well the SRT is too nice of a vehicle to break so I’ll be cutting the wattage down to around 5k. I will definitely keep you all posted with updates.

Yeah it's never ending with car audio... Always want louder.

I went to more of a SQ setup in my ST cause I didn't want to destroy my new car. My TC was cheap and IDGAF about it so I went back to SPL. Been about 6 months so it's time to upgrade to louder.

So this is for a daily driver, well I work from home so it’s more like a grocery getter. ( a toy I guess ) I like to play my music at full tilt. My current set up is 2 Memphis audio mojo 15. 1k rms 2k peak with a bc 3500w amp. It sounds good in the car, but what I’m after if shaking the ground loud.

Is that possible on 2 15” evils at rms ( about 8k watts) with the right box build and tune?

If you wanted to just get as loud as you can you might consider just buying some shitbox van or large SUV you don't care about and doing a flat wall. You'd get louder with more space, you won't be destroying your nice vehicle, and much of the gear you buy can be put into another vehicle down the road.

For an alternator
13,000 watts / 14.4v = 902 amps.
You need to know your amps efficiency which you would divide by. If your amp is 85% efficient,
902 / .85 = 1064 amps Thats 1064 amps ON TOP of what your vehicle needs without the stereo. If the factory was 220 amps, then plan for about 1300. Did I see you can get a 320amp alt, then get 4 of those.

Not sure about your amp if that was peak, or RMS. Not sure of if you are planning for peak or what kind of music, or other variables. You can do caps, and cut back. There are just some details missing to figure out the best option.

For a battery, 13,000 watts / 12 volts (if you plan on listening to this at that level with the engine off) = 1083 amps. Then again divided by (point percentage). If 85% then 1083/ .85 = 1274 amps. I don't know AGM batteries, but I think its somewhere around 300-400amps discharge. Which would mean you would need to plan for 3-4 alternators, and 3 batteries if you plan on driving it. Four or more batteries if you want to listen to it while the engine is off. (I would plan for four alts, and then caps if you are getting voltage dropping at hits. Just because I'm betting you're going to have to buy a alt bracket that costs about half the price of a fourth alt. Not something I would want to buy a 3 alt bracket, belt, and then start adding caps, when you could buy a 4 alt bracket in the first place).

No you really didn't cover it. You gave a "general rule of thumb", which was kind of ********. I gave an even shorter answer of how you actually get there. I was trying to help the OP in whatever way they go, and everyone else who might read this wanting to know this answer.

Well I’m going to be listening at a reasonable level while driving but want the potential of getting loud if I want to.

So I like metal with lots of bass and rap.
with rap I like lows. With metal I like a hard hit. ( pounding)

amp: I like the crescendo bc 6k. Not sure on the efficiency level.

I’d be Listening while thinking the car. ( driving around etc )

I have a 2015 GC SRT that I am working on a sound system in. Certainly NOT the easiest vehicle I've ever dealt with. I bought a newer head unit with apple car play and android auto. All it does is power cycle. I was told there's something I need to turn on in the pcm/ecu. So..I bought AlfaOBD to do that...but dont know what to do after that. So....started buying the system. I think it'll be funny when done. I'll start a build thread when I start the install on it all.

It's also worthy to note that 13 KW translates to about 17 HP worth of mechanical power to drive those alternators

If your goal is to do nothing else but shake the ground, go with bigger subs. At the very least, 18". To shake the ground, you need depth, and bigger subs hit the deeper tones better. You can bring in sound quality by adding 10's or 12's. If you want to build pressure in your Jeep to make your girls hair go crazy, get 18" subs with extremely high excursion.

Running 13k watts at full tilt will literally make you deaf within a minute. So, I doubt you will use the entire 13k for more than a 10 second burst. I would say 700 amps of alternator power and a huge 1,300 ah size power bank would suffice for your needs. Really, though, you could probably get away with only an 800 ah power bank.
