Alpine Type-X

Alpine Type X 5.25" components : 60 watts rms x 2 @ 4ohm.

I've been using these for the past year or so. I actually love how they sound, but, how do they compare to others in the same price range. At the time i bought it, it was at least 200 bucks. My rears are blown, I fear putting up the volume because of them. I might move the alpines to the rear if I find something dramatically better for in the 300 or less range.

Was the type X model before the type X Ref and Pro models came out? Or is it one of those

I didn't care for my SPX type X componets when I had them. Same size as yours.

Never seemed to get them dialed in right. Ended up selling them and he likes them, so win/win as I have a cheaper Pioneer set, but sounds so much better to me.
