Read in this months ca&e that the type x's voice coil is woulnd with 3 layers INSIDE the former (and 3 outside).. anyone ever heard of anything like that? seems odd..

how would they wind it inside? I'm not hugely familiar with the winding process but that doesn't sound intuitively easy.

I suppose you could epoxy mold anything into a former shape, but somehow I doubt alpine would go thru the effort.
