For sumone who has actually heard them...I was thinking bout putting one of these alpines in my chevy cavalier w/ a 1200 watt hifonics brutus amp and it says it has 1000 watt RMS and 3000 watt peak but everyone says the amp doesnt push as much as it says and i also read that to get the sub to sound pretty good u need atleast 1000 watts so should i get the 1606 instead????

you need an amp that will do 1000+ at 2 ohms. So the new 1606 would be perfect. I have a planet audio that does around 1300 rms at 2 ohms at 13.8 volts

But one thing...IDK if my cars electrical system could handle it cause it only has a 105 AMP alt and im 4 sure running a battery parallel

I got the 1606 wired at 4ohm, with my 65amp alt and a 4+ year old batt I have not had it dim my lights. Its a great amp, never had it get hot, little distortion.

Yea but that is at 4 ohms wen im getting mine i am going to run the sub at 2 ohms....

I've got mine inverted in .7 sealed and it wangs. Have had it in 2.2@35,1.7@33,1.7sealed,2@38. It sounded great in everyone.

i got mine in 2.5 at 32 and it gets low and loud!

I have mine in a sealed 1.25 cuft box and it slammed very hard and it loves the low bass. You will need at least 800-1000 watts to get it moving good. I had it running off of 400 watts for a lil while and it sucked. But when I threw 1k at it, it was beautiful.

Ive got a cavy running 2 red tops and an mtx 1501d and an mtx 9500 12 and ive just recently started to notice some headlight dimming when i have it turned up. It definately would help getting a high output alternater, but you should be fine for a while at least.
