havnt heard a type x but

l7 arnt great sq,

so my guess would be the x sounds better

Type X is suppose to be the SQ sub but does not pound, L7 does pound but lacked in SQ. So neither one.

From personally hearing R's and X's the R's get louder though, but don't sound NEARLY as good as the X's. But the X's may not have been in a proper install, I didn't get specs on the boxes of either but yeah.

It also could have been car dependent. But either way, the L7 and Type X have two VERY VERY different motives. The Type X is basically Alpine's flagship SQ sub, while the L7's is Kicker's SPL sub (next to the solo X obviously)

up until you get into 15" , (since Alpine no make 15" type x.)

I'd take a X over an l7 any day

I personally think the type x is a joke. I've heard them, and not impressed esp for the price. They are also very picky subs too.....

why not go other options?

pick up a xxx motor on here for 220 and alittle over another 120 ish and you have a recone. Many more better options other than yur 2

my friend did comps with 2 12" type X's and they sounded amazing with 2 3000d brutus' that were moded but he was very disapointed in them and went to 12 " loaded BTLs... but he did always beat the L7s in comps (he came in 2nd next to a guy with 3 W7s then 2nd again in a comp next to a guy with 3 T1s) but he said he liked his R's more than his X's but hes pure spl fan so theres my word on that
