buddy has 2 of them in a sealed box in his 4-runner with 2 1000 watt amps on them, they are clear but they don't crank so much also... his spider's tore it was kinda wierd

god yeah never go to alpine from JL, i won't go so far as to say alpine is shit, but it's performance is definitly not on the same level as alot of others

Well I don't have the JL yet, I was just going to get 10w7 and a pdx-1.600 to power but then I seen a deal for a pdx-1.1000 and a type x 12 for a decent price, and was just wondering how they were.

the w7 the should stomp the type x from my experience

Well, I've never personally heard the type X but i would love to if given the chance. Supposedly, it doesn't get very loud but is a very "clean" sounding sub and can get all kinds of nasty with the lows if installed properly.
