Alpine Type-S 6.5" Coaxial Door speakers

Hello everyone, I currently have some alpine type S 6.5s in my doors on my ext cab truck. They sound decent IMO, and way better than the stock. But they are only running off my HU power. I want to eiher amp all 4 of them. Or maybe upgrade the doors to focal or somethig better. But anything better will for sure need to be amped. So should I just stick with the alpines and get a 4 channel amp?

How much better, louder, clearer would my alpines sound with a decent amp pushing like 75-100w RMS to em?? Is it worth it??

Basically my sub works perfect and is almost to much and is overpowering the rest of the soundstage slightly, I'd still like more sound from my doors

any input will be greatly appreciated...

Amp the speakers and you should see a big improvement, if you still want better you can get better speakers too.

they handle about 50w rms without distorting.

if you can afford focals id go with them and amp

they say 80w RMS and 240 Max on the box so I was looking for a 70w rms x 4 amp.. would that be to much then??

You say they distort with anything over 50w RMS.. really? so getting anything higher would be a waste.. or no because if I upgrade later. I think I'll go a 70-75w RMS amp. that way I wont be maxing all 50w. I can turn it down a little. and it will still push enough for a future Focal or Infinity upgrade..

these say to handle 50w RMS SPS-171a(older, real component set)

these say to handle 80w rms sps-600c( the new version without crossover)

look at the size and compare.

i personally tested both of them in my car and sps-171a wins even though it was rated less...

whats your budget anyway?

Well for one I don't have anywhere to add the tweeters without some modding of my doors. And for 2 I already have the alpine type S installed into my truck. So I'd just amp them.

But the price might be too steep. That with the upstage system:

And people in my car are whipping their heads around trying to find the rear speakers...which don't exist. The sound stage is incredible and unlike anything else I've experienced. Instead of hearing the singers and performers right in front of you, it makes it seem like you're sitting right next to the microphone. To me that's even better because it seems like you're standing in the middle of the studio with a bass behind you, a trumpet to your front right and the singer immediately to your left.

if you wanna get loud get something with an aluminum dome tweet and amp it.. check out some SEAS prestige tweets or maybe some ranbow CALs... theres tons of good mid bass speakers out there..If you wanna stay coax.. the Rockford Fosgate power series do pretty well as do the cerwin vegas.

I have a sundown 50.4 and I absolutely love it. I have it running a set of DD MB 6.5s and DDt28 tweets actively. This amp def puts out more than 50 watts a side as I had to turn the gains down for the tweets.. I'd say it puts out a solid 65-75 watts per channel. This amp has a ton of tuning abilities that you probably wouldnt need for your door speakers. If I were you i'd go with something i little cheaper like the RD 55x4 or something along those lines unless you plan on running an active system in the near future.

thanks for the input staton and others. but like I said. I already have the alpine type S in my car and dont wanna change yet.

I got the Memphis Audio 16-mca2004 amp on the way to power the doors. that should really help cuz triple the power from what they get now. if I really dont like it after I'll move up to something else
