Alpine Type R's 12" not hitting hard

Out of phase means that one sub is wired polar opposite of the other sub. That would be like having one sub wired right, POS+ output on amp to POS+ input on sub, and the other sub would be backwards, POS+ output on amp to NEG- input on sub.
Problem solved.
I took my subs out, found out that PURPLE was Positive, Silver was negative. Subs were connected correctly, but the wires that I used to connect the 2 subs was switched. So I had positive from the amp goin to negative on the subs, and vice versa. I changed it up and it sounds amazing now.

Thanks for all of your help guys...This forum seems pretty sweet so I'm sure I'll stick around and help out as much as I can.

Thanks again!!!

So i haz teh winnarz?

u underpowerin the subs by 4-500 watts
I don't understand. The subs say 2 ohms @ 500W RMS. I have 2 of the same sub, so wouldn't that be 1000W RMS @ 2 ohms for both of the subs?

The amp puts out 1000W RMS @ 2 ohms. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Which way do you have them wired? If your subs are dual 4 ohm like you said your only options are to run them at 1 ohm or 4 ohms. If you have them wired to 1 ohm and your amp isn't 1 ohm stable it could be bad news for your amp. If you have them wired to 4 ohms you're only getting ~300 watts to each sub. Simply put, you either need 2 dual 2 ohm subs or a 1 ohm stable amp.

I have the positive of the sub going to the positive of the terminals then to the positive of the amp, then the negative of the subs to the negative of the terminals, then to the negative of the amp..

I have that little piece of wire that connects the + and - to make the sub 2 ohms. Does anyone know what im talking about?

It's a brand new system, and I read everything about it and I thought I had everything down pat. Hopefully I can figure something out soon. Thanks for all your help!
