alpine type r

so i got a few of these type r's im goin to recone. cheap crap is where ill start......

out of the 4 alpines i got 3 are bad coils and one the surround came unglued. the surrounds and spider ring (after unscrewed ) pull right off with ease . wtf kinda quality is that? what do they use for glue rtv? no activator? funny shit man.....lol.... figured id post up what all you used to call a wonderfull sub........

not to bash on them there coils ateast stayed attached but use some real glue, its like having 1/8" lugs on a car.....lol.....

Which Alpine Type R are you talking about....the ones with the ridged type rubber surround(High Amplitude Multi Roll Surround (HAMRS)). or the standard round rubber sorround(older model).I know this sounds funny,but Ive listen to the I guess Older model(round rubber surround) and the newer ridged style or "High Amplitude Multi Roll Surround"or (HAMRS) and it was like night and day.Ive had great luck and been happy with them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Its a shame if they are what you say.here is a link to a pic of both

ALSO,I got a question.I have a pair of OLDSHCOOL punch subs...around 90 to 93 models...they have the round dust cap and they say "The Punch" on them.They are mint.I have them put away in the attic.When I was moving them one day I noticed that the cone came unglued from the coil or spider part....Im not familiar with terminolagy.The part between the magnet and the cone...I guess the motor?Is that an easy fix?what kind of glue to use or do I need to send them for repair?I would hate to cover shipping LOL
