Both about the same subs power wise. I need 2 12's.

They will be powered by a Kenwood KAC-9103D which gives out about 1000rms at 2ohms.

They will be going in a ported box 3.7cuft.

My vote will go to the Type R.

Just to let you know, in order to get the subs down to 2 ohms, you'll have get the dual 2 ohm subs.

From playing with and knowing people with both, Id say the type- argh. they are just more proven to me. The RF will still give you good output, but I've seen some rf punch cones crack. Mostly on P1's and P;2s though. Now be careful if you ever are gonna buy the type-e's available right now. They are braking tinsel leds left and right. Alpine fixed the problem, but theres a massive batch out there with shoddy solder joints. And they cant identify which one are good or bad.
