i was thinking of getting one alpine type-r 12'' with about 700 watts or two 12'' pioneer ts-w306dvc with a little over 400 watts to each one both subs will be in a ported or vented box i listen to alot of rap so what do you think would be better.... also making a box will cost more than buying a prefabed one

Depends on what ur looking to get out of ur system. If u want purely SPL i would go with the two 306's over the single type R but keep in mind, those 306's will sound good on 400 watts a piece. I'd go single type R if ur looking for more SQ but on 700 watts it should get pretty loud although probably not quite as loud as the pioneers. I would imagine it would be cheaper to build ur own box as long as u already own the tools to make one.

right now i have a 10 in a sealed box it sounds ight so im guessing two 12s would be soo much better

any one know what prefabed box would be best yes i know i should make my own but i have no tools to do it
