Alpine Type R - Anything Comparable?

Hello all I was looking for a budget 12" Subwoofer that will get as loud if not louder than a Type R. Basically I'm looking for something equally priced or lower that will Wang just as hard as the much praised Type R. I have about 2.36 Cf Box tuned to 32 Hz that I would like to drop it in. Should I just go with they Type R or are there better options?

I don't have them yet. But I will be looking to send maybe 600 Watts RMS to it.

you will want to match your sub with your amp. eg type r sup on 300rms = crapola, 600rms + on a type r and you'll have a decent amount of bass (being that you build a ported box) i'd suggest a bit more research

Type R's are the best budget sub....

But really you can't go wrong with R's. Can find em new on ebay for ridiculously cheap, like 200 a pair...

Yup buy 2 then sell 1 to someone local for $150 after they hear your setup

ppl are gonna hate, but kicker cvx are about $150 and they sound, imo, just as good...def better sq as well...ive got 2 10s on 1500w and theyre takin it like a champ...they are great budget subs

Type-R's > CVX's.

First off, what's your budget for the amp and the sub? The box you have is suitable for tons of subs as well, so no need to worry about that (unless the port is too small).

The Port is a slot port 12"x2" For a budget I would like to stay under 300 If thats at all possible. I was looking at a visonic mono block amp 600 rms at 2 ohms that along with a single type r comes to just a hair over 200 dollars.
