alpine type R 12"

I have 2 12" of the same model year. I've had them sealed and ported and liked the way they sounded oversized and sealed more than I did ported. Yea, they were louder but they seemed alil too muddy for my taste. I had them in 1.8ft^3 each (so 3.6ft^3net) tuned at 34hz. I'm going to rebuild the box to 3.2ft^3 net at 32hz to see if I like it better. Tune them low, they're not spl subs.

The Type R sticky might as well be deleted. It's never used.
Had he consulted that thread he would have made a box that is completely wrong for these model year subs. The 05 type'rs share almost nothing with the older ones and to put them in the same box would be utterly retarded...

See the graph;

Orange is 3 cubes at 30hz

Green is 3 cubes at 35hz

Blue is 3 cubes at 40hz

Pink is 3 cubes at 45hz

If your car peaks higher than 55hz you could also try tuning up to 48hz or 50hz or so.

j3bus2k3 is right all the stuff in that type R thread is about the new ones i have the older ones.....

i am thinking i am gonna try 3.5 cuft and 40hz for the first box and i might try to do interchangable ports... one port for daily and one for comps
