Alpine type r 12 or sundown ev212

Will be powered by an alpine mrv-500 putting out 500 watts at 2 ohms. Box will be 1.75cft ported tuned to 35hz in the trunk of a 1994 buick roadmaster.

Wondering which would be louder and sound better?

As of right now i have an alpine bassline 12 powered by the same amo in the ported box and it doesn't sound that great ans isn't all that loud. Thanks for any input.

Type R's aren't bad, but most will probably recommend the Sundown E.

The e is 35 bucks cheaper and from legit dealer unlike the type r which comes from 3rd party dealer.

Yes, E is probably your best choice. What I'm saying is either would be fine.

Only thing that worries me is that the e is sundowns intro line of woofers. But huge upgrade over the bassline I'm assuming?

The SA series would need more power on tap if you wanted to get your money's worth.

Is your current box a prefab? If so, build a whole new one.

It is indeed a prefab but i have measured it and from the best I can tell it is the size and tuning i stated. So maybe a baffle and put a ten in the box as i don't have time with two jobs to make a new box.

How wide is the port? Tuning may be right, but prefabs are notorious for not having enough port area.
