Alpine type L ????? new woofer from alpine

The new additon to the alpine line up ...same look and rms wattage as the type E yet they beefed up the magnet from 64 oz [ 12''] to 115 oz

same 4 ohm single voice coil same pretty much everything here so why o why did alpine clone the type e and call it a type L ????

If they are like the Type E sub, that would be nice. I really liked the Type E subs, for the price they gave the bang. I have 4 10" Type E subs that I refuse to get rid of, since they were not produced anymore.

same here i run a pair of 12's type E's off my technics su 8600 house amp and they freaking pound like a mofo for the wattage they get! really they stopped making them thats gay! i always thought they put the jl w0 to shame for the applicaton i am currently using.[ i have a 12'' w0 for all you people just waiting to spam me like a email in box so i can say sh!t about it ]

well its a upgrade vs my type e's since the euro version has thoose tasty connections and that fat *** magnet on it who knows mabye they upgraded the teeny tiny voice coil it has too.

The surrond still looks 3/4'' like on my model and it says it has a ''long throw'' i think i spotted the term spl in there somewhere which would be a huge strecth for theese woofers like they are good but not at all spl material i know i own them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif i pound them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif not too bad for a entry level sub i suppose i bought them 4 years ago now and they still are in prefect shape mech wise and 8/10 cosmetics so at 140 a piece [ im in canada ] buying them 1st hand with a warranty they stood up to my amp Technics SU 8600 rated at 78 watts @ 4 ohms which is really really under rated since i can at less then half gain push this sub outta shape ...same goes to the w0 i have.

looks like a beefed up type E, type Es are awesome, everytime i take my setup out and build for sumthin else, i throw the E in there for the meantime, handles the 2500d fine

HI guys, I have an Alpine Type L bassengine here. I bought it approx 3-4 years ago in Hungary. I paid around $200. It is a monster; isn't it. It has a plug around the side for where 2 channels can be taken to the amp. Appreciate your thoughts!

they used to sell alpine type L knockoffs on ebay originally.... then alpine released a real type L model later down the line lol. Old days... wow.
