Alpine Type E?

I had 2 type e 12's in a divided sealed box in an extended cab f-150 and they could get pretty loud. nothing extremely loud, but ok. I think the circuit city down here is offering them at like 150 bucks for a pair of 12's, so you could get like 8 of them and a bunch of little amps and go to town lol

They are single voice coil, 200w rms, 600 max. I had a profile california series pushin about 185w continuous to each and they did pretty well.

I have 2 type r 10's now, and 2 700w class d alpine amps. needless to say, they are tons louder than the type e's ever dreamed of being.

Alpine doesn't make a 700W Class D, ya mean the MRD-M500?

mrd m350... its really 350 rms, I just got in the habit of putting 700 since thats what the big thing on the amp says.

I have heard W7's that sound worse than my Type R's. I am not at all pleased with any JL subs. I have not heard the Type X, but if it sounds better than the R's, which i assume it does, then it should sound better than a w7. I was totally dissappointed with the W7....

Also, furthermore....The Type R's are worth the money. Such well built subs its insane. They handle way more than Alpine says, and they sound amazing. Worth every penny and i wouldnt trade mine for anything....well, actually i would, but still.

yeah type r's are some nice arse subs..... and they schlump in a ported application givin 1000 watts!!!

That would be an advertisment of MAX power.

In reality, MAX POWER in car audio means absolute shit. RMS is what you go by.

The Type R is a great sub for the money... handles 200+WRMS more then rated, very clean, tight, clear sub that can get decently loud. For $100 you really cant go wrong.

si senior. yeah, they do like to shut off. very sensitive to the wiring. if you don't have a really good ground they'll shut off after a while, or if you put them where they don't get airflow, they'll shut off from heat.

This is one reason I'm seriously considering switching.

w7's seem to be very picky on their enclousures.....i have heard setups where they sound like butt, then others where the sq is amazing, as for jl subs, as long as they have a good install, most jl subs have amazing sq cough w6v2 cough, but the type x should be a nice woofer, i just haven't heard one yet
