Alpine Told me to do this !!!!!!

If I'm following your original post correctly, you have a DVC 4 ohm sub. Why don't you run a parallel wiring from channel 3/4 of your amp to both of your voice coils. They'll run at 2 ohm.

Is the amp not able to do 2 ohm? This will leave channel 1/2 for your fronts, as well.

YUp well whatever voice coil one is running only right now and its all goood

i just wonder wat can be the demage or how would it sound if i put the other 125rms into voice coil 2

Heres a quick little explanation of how electricity works... A lower voltage going thru one coil will require a higher amperage than the second coil running a higher voltage. Both coils will not play exactly in time with each other. The coil with the higher power on it is going to have more control over cone movement than the other coil.

One coil will try to produce a note while the other coil is off time with it. Basically one coil is going to want to move one way when the other coil wants to move the other. This is just going to cause cancelation or muddy sound from the sub and its just going to eventually tear itself apart at the coils.

Only running one coil will basically do that same thing. The coil with no power on it is being rapidly passed back and forth across a strong magnet. This will also create a small amount of voltage on that coil. It basically works like the alternator in your car with a up and down motion instead of a rotational motion.

Either way that speaker will die eventually. Wait and see what happens to your amp when the 500 watt rms coil and the 125 watt rms coil short with each other. You're basically going to send the 500 watts from channels 3/4 back to your amp on channels 1/2. I'm sure the amp isn't going to like that much since its not strapable. I'm also pretty sure the amps built in protection isn't designed to take that large of a wattage on 2 channels that only put out 125 rms.

In the end you will probably have a blown sub and a worthless amp. I know I don't like to waste my money and this is a situation where a lot of money is going to be wasted.

listen to him, he seems smart

If your not going to listen to anyone on here, then just do it and stop making threads you douche.

Oh, and i seriously doubt your whole setup is worth even as much as my 2 amps.

hell i don't think his setup cost more than my amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

when i called alpine to ask them what shoulld i do about my amp that does 500rms at 4 ohms when bridged and hooking it up to only one voice coil since both coils are 4ohms
they told me that it would work but it would be much better if i bridge the amp make 500rms into one voice coil and then use the ch 1/2 that does 125rms at 4ohms and wire it to the 2nd voice coil

so this ok to do.. having one voice coil 3 times more rms then the other one ?

500rms VC1

125rms VC2

If it sounds dumb, then it probably isn't a good idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

this is a 500$ amp prolly worth more then your whole ****in piece of shit of a system you have in your mom's car. stfu if you read my thread you would know that i got a VERY good deal on this setup with the sub and box because of the hassle i have to go thru to get this system working nicely. so i dont want to get rid of the amp since i got it for so cheap i mean i could sell it.... prolly take awhile and buy something else for that money
so i dont have the money to buy a 2nd amp and be stuck with it

the amp is a 2/3/4 ch its a rare alpine Alpine MRV-F545

it can do alot of configarations on this amp

125x4 (172rmx x 4ohm on birthsheet)

250x4 2ohm

subwoofer

3/4 bridged 4ohm 500rms(600 actualy )

plus it has potatnetial of ch 1/2 to be bridged as well to get 125rms

so 500 + 125
Your an idiot. /thread
