allout13's acura integra build log

I didnt drill it. It was just there. lol There was a rubber stopper in the hole, and I just pried it out.
make sure u put a rubber grommet around the hole so your power wire isnt cut. u dont want your car to catch on fire.

I used a little bit of plastic tubing around the wire through the hole. Im not too worried, because the hole wasn't sharp.

plus, as long as both batteries are fused properly, both of the fuses would pop before an electrical fire would start wouldn't it?

didn't get much done today. (**** the molex plugs)

here's the equipment I wanted to get in today

with 180 watts of output!!!!!

made some baffles for my 6.5"s that didnt fit

they matched the stock baffle nicely so it screwed right in

tweeters are too big to fit the stock mounts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif it looks like crap, I might change them sometime soon just because of that

and that's about all that got done today. ftl

i got super lucky with mine.

bought an 01 gs-r from some FOB polish guy, even had the oem optional kit on it. 59k on the clock..only issues..rebuilt title, no abs and no airbags. but i got it for $4950

i then threw a few *small* systems in it.

sold it 2 years later with 85k for $4900 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hell yeah man. paying only $50 to drive a car for two years. unfortunately for me one of the requirements of the car was that is could NOT have a salvage title. I can't argue though, because my parents bought it for me:D

got a good bit done today

got the crossovers and mids mounted. the tweeter output on the crossover I put in the passenger door had crapped out so after I got the door put back together I had to pull everything back apart.

tweeters were a pain in the ass. the wire was so flimsy that when I crimped a butt splice on it cut right through the wire so I had to solder some better wire on

DSC_0029.jpg

everything mounted and in place. Im thinking about grinding down the factory tweeter grills as per madmat's suggestion, but until then...

mounting the amps tomorrow

When i had tweeters like that that were too small in my factory location i went to lowes and got a rubber washer that was the size of the previous tweeter, cut it out so the tweet would fit and mounted it. Looked much better because there was not the indention like yours has as well.

You can also pull the factory tweeter off and mount directly to the stock bracket, having another grill will have little to no effect.

nice idea. I might have to try that.

The tweeters will not fit the stock mounts without modification to both the tweets and the mounts, and then I would have to get rid of the part of the mounts where it screws into the bracket in the back. The tweeters are just too big. about twice the size of the stock tweeters.

thanks. I love the car. It rides so nice, and gets really good gas mileage. Its not fast, but its definitely peppy.

thanks

the baffles I made aren't that good at all haha. All I did was take the stock baffle and trace it on mdf, and the I cut it out with a jig saw. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif its really crooked and uneven, but its alright because no one will ever have to see it.

the tweet came from this component set

the guy I bought the rsd mids from said he had burned out a couple of sets of pg rsd tweets, so I decided it would be best to not even try them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

No problem. The Dayton ultimax is one of the better sounding sealed subs I’ve heard. I kinda want to try the 18 in my ride.
