My basic response is JL hasnt gotten their name from just marking their price up. They got it from time and time again doing something different and over the top, putting them ahead of the game. The whole forum wasnt started for the argument of price, but moreless what JL brings to the table. If you look at their amp, I know for a fact that all the controls on it which most others dont hav near the technicality, are not on there for the looks......but they actually hav an impact on what people are wanting to get out of their system/subs.

However, isn't there other things that should be considered, such as application. I am curious how you can quantitatively. I assume that would be a qualitative measure...but nothing against JL. I don't diss Lowe's because they don't sell 1/2" mdf.

The bolded part has been proven time and time again in various economic journals, although never related to car audio.

i also owned a 1000/1 and a 13w7 at one point. good quality gear IMO, but id never ever pay that much again. that shit was **** expensive and for that price it should have made me nut my pants, but it def did not
