A box for 4 Type R's

Hey Guys, Im doing a box for a friend. We are doing 4 type R 15's. He is going for SPL. I tried to convince him to go for interchangable ports for SPL and Daily but no budge on that. Im thinking tuning it to 48 hz. Its 12 Ft3 before port displacement. How much port area would that be and any other suggestions?

I dont think theyd like tuning at 48hz...just my opinion

Try around 40hz for SPL and like 30hz for daily with those Rs.....theyd love it low

Use 180 sq inches for SPL. If adding the port will not affect the 12 cube volume then make it 5 1/4 inches long for 40 Hz. If putting in the port is going to lower the vol then expect it to take up about a cubic foot or two. If you end up with 10 cubes use 150 sq inches of port 7 3/4 inches long for 40 Hz.

use this site. the formulas are pretty acurate. at least as far as the port length calculator at the bottom is concerned. Use between 12 adn 15 sq in of port per cube of box.
