Against JL audio?

One of the best features of JL amps is that they RARELY suffer catastrophic failures when they fail (thanks to many smart ideas in their design) and they can be quickly and fully repaired to factory specs.
which brands have you used?

how many of each brand have you used?

how quickly did it take them to get repaired?

where are you getting your statistics from?

if you cant answer these questions with many examples, then its all hearsay

I went to a local carshow last night and I heard a pretty loud system. So I walked over to see what it was and I see a beat up 300zx with a 12W7 and a 1000/1 amp. I started talking to the guy for a little while and I asked him how much he spent on his system. He says " not too much only 2 grand" The 2 grand only covered the sub, amp, and wiring. After that I just walked away. I cant stand how over priced JL is.

- All brands

- A lot (~100 JL's)

- Most of them within 1 hour

- I own a repair shop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I call bullshit on this. Can you explain what exactly makes the amps more easy to be repaired than any other? I mean, it sure isnt the parts in it, most FET's are IRF knockoffs or IRF chips and 90% of all amplifiers use similar designed transistors or direct copies of them.

Here, this is a 1000/1 ... if you can point out anything that makes them so special, please do.

one thing I can see on the board that already would be time consuming to remove is the FET rails off the heat sync. I hate this style of mechanical anchoring of the FET's to the supporting metal, its a total pain in the *** to get the clips removed so you can get the board out.
