ORIGINALLY POSTED IN WRONG FORUM:crap:....

Newb seeking advice; not on what brand of speaker to buy but the actual setup.

Car: 2007 Dodge Charger SRT-8 w/ factory Kicker(13speaker) audio system.

Current setup: Stock 3.5" in dash, stock 6.5"(might be 6X9?) in front doors and stock 6X9's in rear deck. Stock amp powering the front and rear fill. JL 10W7 powered by JL 500/1v2. I have a JL 450/4 that I will eventually use to power the front and rear fill once I upgrade those speakers.

My QUESTIONS: Can I run the front and rear fill with just the 450/4? I know I'm going to replace the 3.5" with something similar. I will replace the door speakers with 6.5" coaxes. Are 6" woofers a good choice for the rear deck? I want good clean sound but "thump" when I want to turn it up. My installer also mentioned something about a center channel. Isn't that just another speaker?

My installer is trying to sell me on the CleanSweep because of the proprietary nature of the stock Dodge HU/Nav system. Is this product even necessary?

Thanks in advance.

AJ

I have a 07 charger . I made the dash opening bigger for a 4in. speaker and I have 7in. mids in the doors and no rear fill. I found that bass seamed to get trapped in the trunk and had a hard time making it in hte cabin. There is an opening for the factory sub i uncovered and the 6x9 holes being open made a nice diffrence.

Honestly, beyond what you need. It will do the trick for sure, but it is excessive. Not a bad thing, just more than you will ever need. No need...
