I plan on having a shop, probably Go-Ho Audio, install a Sub Enclosure in a 2012 Mustang with audio gear that I already own: 2 "12 Kicker CVX dvc 2-ohm, Rockford Power T1500.1bd amp. They had previously installed the above in a sealed enclosure in a '02 Mustang back in 2007, but Hurricane Irene flooded lower portion of the car.
The new Mustang has about 2 cubic ft more trunk space than the old '02 had so I'm wondering if I should go with a ported enclosure this time around...if possible to fit it in the trunk? Would ported make a huge difference in bass over sealed? I listen to Rap/Reggae/Rock/Metal. I realize that I will have to sacrifice spare tire well space for amp and/or Optima Yellow Top battery.
Another issue is the headunit. The car has the Shaker 500 w/o Navigation/no electronics package. I would prefer to the keep the stock one so I retain Sync funtionality and I assume a line out converter is necessary such as JL Cleansweep or Rockford 360? Could 2 amps be run from the Line Converter if I add one in future?
So far I have replaced the 4 interior speakers with Pold db571's, and have kept 8" door subs stock for the moment. Any advice on good subs that will fit doors is welcome.
