stock head unit and still be good

I have read many articles on the subject and now want to get a final opinion. can you run a sub and an amp from the factory head unit successfully without sacraficing any performance? hopefully this will be the end all of this discussion. now with the factory head unit can you run more than one amp. for instance a second amp for the front setup of the speakers?

my set-up

audioque hdc3 12

audioque aq1200 amp

(wanting to also add a set or of 6.5 and highs with a 4 channle amp.)

I wouldn't think so, you need pre-outs in order to run RCA's to either amp. But I will say a friend has a Chevy Cobalt with stock HU, and they have a subwoofer option that he got, not super good but its a subwoofer, I know Subaru does this too.

You need a linedriver like the JL cleansweep, Audiocontrol or Rockford 360 to get the most out of it. Most of the time they end up better then a aftermarket HU. The JL has a 30 band EQ

oh ok then I can actually do controlling like I would on a aftermarket HU with the clean sweap? if so that was mine main worry about it but seems good now.

It's entirely possible to run 2 amps off a factory HU. A good line out converter like David Navone's can be split just like any RCA output, and you get remote turn on signal to boot.

I have had a few cars with the stock headunit and multi amps

My last was a Nissan Armada running 2 amps

Giving bad information is much worse than giving no information at all.

What do you think LOC (Line Output Converters) are made for? To take the speaker level output from a factory deck and convert it to a low level RCA output to run aftermarket amps.

there are 100's for sale on Ebay right now. It is VERY COMMON to run a factory headunit with aftermarket amps.

Buddy of mine runs 3 amps off factory deck with an audiocontrol (forgot the model) and it works just fine. Very possible and not too hard to do.

yeah I checked out it. it looks good. now as far as hooking them up to my speakers. I got 1" tweetwers, 6.5, 6x9's. would you recommend replacing on set of them speakers, two or all of them. my factory sound is clear but is not too loud like others.
