Advice PLEASE..........!!

My cousin has this amp..He also bought 3 Typer R's dual 4ohm.....

The guy at the shop told he would need to buy 3 Type R's dual 2ohm instead. To have it hit harder.

I saw that 3 2ohm dvc will wire to a 1.34ohm load and the 3 4ohm dvc will wire to a 2.67 load...

Does he have to but 3 dvc 2ohm instead of the 3 dvc 4ohm....

No.. He doesnt "have to."

But if he wants to give them more power he can do it.. Its not a must, just something he could do. But if he already has them, he might as well stick with them. Hook them up, see how the sound, if he is dissapointed then take it from there...

He will only be giving each sub a little over 200w RMS , but hook it up, and see if he likes it. Thats the only advice to give.

The best option is 2 dual 2ohm type-r's. That will give a final load of 2ohms and they will each see around 400-500watts.

I don't know why shops recommend an odd number of subs.

And Three dual 2ohm sub's final load will be to low for that amp. Three dual 4ohm sub's final load will be to high and a waste of the amps power.

Oh well, a waste IMO.

Tell him to look at JBL, or JL amps. Most of there ratings are at 2-4ohms.

He already has the Alpine amp! He wants to keep everything alpine...Everything in his truck is Alpine~Its nice.....

Agreed........2.67 isn't that bad anyway. If you had a 2 ohm load versus a 2.67 ohm load I doubt you would notice that big of a difference anyway.
