advice on subs and amp please.

hello all.

i am new here and a car stereo n00b so please bare with me. i am basically looking for a fairly cheap sub/amp package for my 2003 grand prix GT.

i don't need it to be booming, i just want to add as much bass as i can for the money and still have a quality system that wont burn up on me.

i also listen to a lot of heavy metal and some hip hop, so mainly i just want to add some bass to the already loud medium range speakers i have in the car.

also be a plus if it is something smaller but not absolutely necessary.

oh sorry, $200 - $400 yes it has an aftermarket deck and the person who owned the car before me had subs so it should be good to go.

Well I sell a ton of the xfl 12s. A 2.2^3 box at 33 hertz ported gets really loud with lots of bass so rectangle slot port box

bumping this because i have another question.

so if i decided i wanted to get 2 of the xfl 12s instead of just one, would that ppi bk 1800 amp be good enough to push those? or would i have to get a different one?

It will push them fine but then your budget goes up to $600 plus the box

yeah i know, i was just wondering if it would be worth it to spend the extra money on another sub since i don't have to get a different amp? would it be twice as loud?

In theory yes it should be louder by 3 db

Instead of second sub use that 200 to upgrade ur factory batt or better yet add a second.
