Advice on amps

I recently bought two 12inch alpine type r 2nd gen subs in a ported box, and I'm pretty new at this so I was wondering if I could get some info on what the proper amp size is for them and the easiest/cheapest way to hook them up so that I don't wreck anything. I'm not too concerned about getting the max bass out of them I'm more concerned with sound quality. If anyone could shed some light on the subject I would appreciate it

then its pretty easy ,for you then.now are they dual 4 or 2 ohm subs ? also how much you looking to spend on a amp ? and last ,are you looking for an amp that will leave room for better woofers down the road, and new or used?

DVC 12" 4 ohm Type R subwoofers. 600 Watts RMS, 2400 Watts per sub. I'm not too picky on wether I get new or used, I just want it to be right, and I'd like to not spend over 500, how much it costs just determines how soon I will be able to buy it, and I'm hoping to have this for a long time so I'm not really worried about upgrading down the road

trust me ,you say that now! but you will.anyway i have a brand new in box dc 2.0 with a 1 year warranty for 575 shipped that would work just fine and leave a little room for you ,as far as power .its 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm and .5 ohm stable.this is a very good amp for you

Haha we'll see. I guess my problem now is that I don't know enough about amps. What does it mean to have them bridged or if they are MOSFET, crossover, etc.? And what about amps that have two channels

to get best sound u should get a amp thats at least one ohm stable usually a mono block a 2 channel u will combine (bridge ) the 2 channels to make a one channel crossover controls the bass and all that lp filter will take words out hp will take out the bass

actually ,this is not true, the most efficient amp for your subs will be a class d mono block ,which are made for subs only, you can use a 2 channel ,but they are usually harder on your electrical as the class d amps aren't.that quantum audio mentioned is a piece of garbage that you can get almost at any flee market, dont buy that junk, you will regret it if you do.

to bridge u take the positive from one channel and neg from other channel usually marked on amp hook pos from both speakers to the pos on amp and both negatives to neg on amp
