Advice for sub enclosure

My first post so just want to say hey and looks like a great site.

I'm building a small enclosure for a Mk4 Jetta and space is definately a concern with SQ a close 2nd. I will be using an Alpine Type-R 10" and want to try to mount to rear deck with sub firing down and using a port that extends flush to the inside of the rear deck.

I feel this will be more accurate than a sealed box on the floor of the trunk....if not then that's my first question.

Secondly, if I cannot make the box fit allowing some room for my wife to use the trunk, then I will try to use the space occupied on the LH side for the CD changer (not installed) thus firing the sub from L to R.

I want it to be as accurate sounding as possible, not boomy and not for competition.

Any input appreciated and if I left out any pertinant info...please ask.

Bump, and to clear up my question, would a port to the deck be worth the trouble over a sealed box on the floor or mounted on the side? If a port inside thecabin is a dramatic improvement then I will try it, otherwise I will prob just go sealed.
