Advice an a sub box

I've got a '91 honda civic that I'm putting a system in pretty soon. The sub box is going in the trunk, but I'm wondering which way to aim the subs: forward, back, down, up, to the sides, or angled somehow? Also; should I port the box (the subs are 700 RMS, 1200 Max)and if so, any suggestions on how?

Remember that each sub has a certain recommended air volume that it needs to function correctly. You cant just port a sealed box. Ported boxes are usually larger.

As far which way the subs should face, its all personal preference. Try each way to see what sound best to you.
