Adding Low End to Stock System in BMW

Next question guys.....

The nakamichi has 4GA inputs

I have a bunch of Stinger Pro 1/0 OFC laying around.

If it were you would you run the 1/0 into the amp with a 0-4 Guage reducer? I already have a set of reducers.

Or should I take the 1/0 into a fused distro w/ 4 Gauge out into the amp direct?

One of the reasons I'm wondering is I don't think I can put the cover on if I use the 1/0 directly into the amp w/ reducers. If you look at the pic below they leave holes on both ends to run the wiring in so the cover can bolt on. I don't think I can get that 1/0 to bend 90 and mount up with the reducers if I put the cover on.....But then again do I really need to use the cover???

What would you do?

I'd go with a distro. Doesn't necessarily have to be fused, though. Learned that reducers weren't the be-all-end-all when they wouldn't even fit into my Rockford P8004. It's not as clean, but you can also trim down the 0ga to fit into the hole. Honestly, it's a lot easier just to use the distro.

i would use a distro also. i agree it doesn't have to be fused if the amp has internal fuses for overload protection of the wire.
So the next question is.......

Do you guys see any benefit to using the 1/0 in my application. My amp is only 1200W RMS.

Should I just run a standard inline fuse 4GA in and out from the Batt to the amp?

Is there any point on going 1/0 from the batt. and ground point into fuse/distro then gauge it down to 4 for input into the amp?

I guess I figured everyone is all about the big 3 and 0 Guage here.

My SAV already has the big 3 stock.....It's 1/0 from the alt back to the starting battery in the trunk and 1/0 from battery ground to chassis.

Is the 1/0 Overrkill for me with my 1200WRMS monoblock?

run 1/0. lower voltage drop and better future flexibility.
So run the 1/0 from battery into an inline fuse and 4GA out of the fuse holder and into the amp for now. {Keeping in mind my starting battery is in the trunk less that 4ft. from the amp}

Using a 1/0 in and 1/0 out fuse holder. So I can 4GA directly into the 4GA inputs of the Nakamichi for now.

That way I can run swap in a larger amp Fuse and 1/0 out of the holder and into a distro/Larger Sub Amp if I decide to upgrade to run more amps in the future?

My enclosure arrived yesterday from Double07

I'm very happy with the results. I snapped a few shots of my eD13aV.2 and it's new home.

I'm loving the recessed mount with this 13"

he did a great job with the custom logo

and the Kerf is just plain secs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
