I installed some Polk speakers in the doors of my 2004 Nissan pathfinder. I just hooked them up to the factory amps. My problem is that they sound like crap!! Do I need to bypass the amps and go straight to the the head unit. The head unit is a pioneer DVD player. Avh 1400, I think. Thanks

yeah you need to bypass the amp bose sends bass to the front doors and highs to the dash and rears. plus bose speakers have some wierd ohms. i had to do the same thing in my trailblazer, charger

I just took the old ones out of the plastic mounts that were in the doors and put the new ones in. They sound ok at low volume but distort out when I turn it up. I would like to still use the tweeters that are in the dash pillars but I guess that wont work if the impedance is going to be out of wack....right? These are the ones I have
