If that were the case, semi trucks would beat any car on the road with their 1,000ft/lbs of torque. Torque doesn't win races, a good setup wins races(power/torque/traction/driver/etc...). You can have all the torque in the world, but if you can't put it to the ground it won't do you any good.

I get what your saying, but saying torque wins races is retarded. It's just a stupid excuse V8 guys use. I see people at the track all the time, they are making tons of horsepower/torque, yet they can barely make it down the 1/4 mile.

When drag racing a good setup and traction wins races...
