Hey,
I am going up to North Carolina this week to go to a family reunion, but my cousin and I are gonna install his system in his new car. We did one before that turned out ok, but we really didnt know too much of what we were doing, and gave up on some of the stuff... but this time we have it preplanned instead of deciding as we go along, etc. haha.
The system is as follows:
Alpine CDA-9851
Alpine to Ipod adapter thing..with a 60 gig Black Ipod
Front: Alpine SPX-177R (6.5")
Back: Alpine SPX-177R (6.5")
Subs: 3 Alpine 12" Type Rs
Amps: 1 MRD-M1001? (its the one that pushes 1000 RMS..haha)
1 MRD-M501? (pushes 500RMS)
1 MRV-F345 (for the speakers)
This will be going in a P&S car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. We are going to make a false floor and put his amps underneath a 1/2" plexi sheet (no rattles). The box we are doing will be in the back of the trunk, with a wood base, and fiberglassed sides molded to the trunk and then the front of the box will be fiberglassed as well. The two outside subs will be inverted, and the middle one will be normal. A "guesstimate" for the box volume is about 9 cubic feet. A "feature" that I think will be cool is the way that we are going to arrange the amps/false floor...we are going to put hinges on a cutaway part, so he can lift it up to get to his spare.
I cant wait to do this, and will get lots of pics loaded as soon as I get back home. Even though its not my car, its gonna be a lot of fun doing it. I thought that I would give you guys a little teaser and hope for any tips that you may have??
Here is what we did in his civic.....not perfect but I thought it was pretty good for our first full install and first time fiberglassing experience...haha
and here is the install pics of that one...
